SOUTHEAST MISSOURI PREMIER WATERFOWLING
BOOK NOW for February 2017. Please call for available hunt dates. There are a couple weekends available in March, and some mid-week hunts available in February and March. Calendar is getting tight.
Weather plays a huge role in Spring snow goose hunting. Please be advised that if weather is critical (heavy snow, freezing rain etc) Resheduling may be required. If a group can be flexible on rescheduling, that can really help with snow goose hunting.
WE MOVE. A LOT! OUR SPREADS DO NOT STAY IN THE SAME LOCATIONS FOR WEEKS. WE MOVE CLOSER TO THE BIRDS AND TRY TO MINIMIZE THE "LUCK" FACTOR.
Each Spring brings the migration back to the north for the snow goose. And Southeast Missouri sees a huge movement of birds.
Our area is perfect for setting up to hunt the geese on their flight back north. They need essential resting areas, food, and wide open spaces to congregate and feed. And we have it. We know where and how to do it to show you a hunt you won't forget.
We have literally tens of thousands of acres to utilize for snow geese during this time. And don't be made to believe every day is a 80 bird day. It is not. We may shoot down 15 or we may shoot down 90. It is hunting, and that is the reality. Nobody averages 40-60 birds per day. So we will do what we can to be in the right spot at the right time. We live here, we know the farmers, and we have access to some of the best places in the entire area.
What can you realistically expect?
1. a lot of action and a lot of birds
2. Hunting in a layout blind in the middle of a wind sock spread, in the middle of a rice field, bean field, or corn field.
3. Shooting a lot of shells and harvesting a lot of birds. That is the goal.
4. Relaxing and enjoying yourself while hunt with friends, electronic callers, and friendly quality guides
You will need, Regular waterfowl appropriate Clothing. Chest waders to keep you dry. Gun. Allow 4 boxes of shells for each day 12ga 3" BB shot, (local retailers have ammo). See MDC regulations for proper license and permits. The ONLY permit needed is the Conservation Order Permit. Missouri Resident is $5.00 and Non resident is $40. Very inexpensive! Plugs can be removed from guns to hold unlimited capacity.
SAFETY Safety is our MAIN goal. NOTHING is worth someone getting hurt, or worse. All guns will be unloaded up to the time that all is set, blinds are full, and the field is clear. All guns are raised when someone exits the blinds. ALWAYS. Anyone that presents an unwanted risk during the hunt may be asked to sit this one out. Please understand that hunting ground level with a lot of hunters presents risks. Lets minimize them as much as possible.
